When Joie linn started in 2000, she was a Unit Clerk on a Med Surg floor while in nursing school. After graduating from nursing school, she started as a Nurse Resident in the Emergency Department. Over the next eight years, her dedication led her to a Supervisor role, followed by a promotion to Nurse Manager. Her career continued to flourish as she moved to the inpatient side, where she served as Director over Med Surg, Women and Children’s, and Behavioral Health. In 2019 she was offered to step into her current role as Nursing Administrator.While the Nurse Residency program in the Emergency Department existed when Joie linn started working as a nurse, it is much more robust today and Joie linn played a pivotal role in shaping and growing that program. The residency program now offers different tracks and cross-educational opportunities. It allows Nurse Residents to switch every couple of weeks to different units, so they have the ability to discover their true passions.Our culture is rooted in growth and mentorship. We are dedicated to fostering the success of our employees, and Joie linn’s story is a shining example of this commitment.One question I asked Joie linn when I met with her was, “What advice would you give to someone who is looking to take that next step in their career and/or step into leadership?” She shared three things with me –1.Embrace each opportunity: You don’t need to have a five-year plan.
