What are quiet hours for UNT housing? ›

Sunday - Thursday: 10 pm –10 am. Friday and Saturday: midnight – noon.

UNT policy requires first year undergraduate students to live on campus. A student that graduated from high school the semester prior to enrolling at UNT and is enrolled for 9 or more semester hours is subject to that policy.

Spending weekday nights (Sunday through Thursday) in the residence hall and returning to the hall by a 2:00 AM curfew on those nights. Informing the Community Director before leaving town on weekends (Friday and Saturday), and returning to the hall by 10:00 PM on Sunday.

Private single occupancy rooms are our rarest room type, and are typically available to upperclassman only in Honors Hall, Legends Hall, Mozart Square. Each room comes with a bed (size twin-XL), desk, desk chair, freestanding dresser, and a closet.

Residence Halls: Pets are not permitted in Residence Halls, except as approved by Housing and Residence Life. Additional Responsibilities: Please view the UNT policy for additional responsibilities of a pet owner on campus.

UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS

You are eligible to be admitted to the university if you meet one of the following criteria: Have a 3.0 GPA (unweighted) Are in the Top 10% Meet admission requirements with a combination of class rank and SAT or ACT scores.

Based on all criteria, Team Omega concluded that the top 5 dorms at UNT are Bruce, Victory, Crumley, Kerr, and West Hall. If your most important criteria is the location to campus, then the student should choose to stay in Bruce, Kerr or Clark Hall.

Students are not permitted to:

Produce or distribute alcohol except as expressly permitted by law and university policy. Drive while under the influence of alcohol or any other drug. Possess or use a controlled substance, marijuana, or a prescription drug in a manner prohibited.

Residents may accommodate overnight guests, no more than four (4) nights per month, with the prior consent of all residents of the unit. Any guest staying past 1:00 a.m. may be deemed an overnight guest.

Overnight Guests

Longer guest stays are subject to Hall Director approval. A maximum of two guests are allowed in a multiple occupancy room on a given night. If a resident wishes to have a sibling or child who is a minor stay overnight the resident must obtain the consent of their Hall Director.

Built in 1946, Bruce is the oldest residence hall still used for housing students on-campus and boasts a history that includes a handful of famous ex-residents, such as Norah Jones. Bruce is home to both the Music & Jazz Living Learning Community.

[ Built in 1957 ] West Hall is one of UNT's “Economy Halls” that houses primarily freshmen students. This is a coed residence hall with men in north tower and women in south tower.

Minimum college GPA of a 2.5 and a High School 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA. UNT encourages you to send your SAT and ACT scores but they are optional.

Guests are not permitted on residence hall room floors other than those assigned to the conference group. Quiet Hours are in effect from 10 pm until 9 am; however, courtesy noise levels should be observed 24 hours a day.

Students have a right to sleep and study in their residence halls. Therefore, disruptive or loud noise is prohibited. Minimum quiet hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m., and Friday and Saturday, midnight to 10:00 a.m. Modified Quiet Hours will be in place before and during finals.

QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours have been established in each apartment complex. The following hours are in effect seven days a week: 10pm - 7am. Courtesy Hours are in effect 24 hours per day. During Courtesy Hours, students are expected to refrain from noise which is a disturbance to another member of the community.
